WEVR consultations and examinations consist of a thorough case review and a physical examination of your pet, followed by some combination of rehabilitation, laser, Tui Na, massage and acupuncture therapy. The types of treatments or therapies used will vary based on your pet’s needs and in accordance with your goals for treatment. We will discuss the results and recommendations of each appointment with you directly after each session. Your regular veterinarian will be provided with a written report outlining physical examination findings, treatments and recommendations regarding rehabilitation therapy following each appointment to help provide continuity of care as part of your pet’s care team.

Veterinary Rehabilitation Therapy

Veterinary rehabilitation is like physiotherapy for humans, designed to help pets recover from injuries, surgery, or mobility challenges. It involves therapeutic exercises, balance training, and stretching to enhance strength, coordination, and flexibility, while also supporting muscle recovery and reducing inflammation. This therapy aims to restore movement, manage pain, and prevent future injuries.

Veterinary Laser Therapy

A painless, non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate tissues, reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and speed up healing. The light energy stimulates cells, improving circulation, reducing swelling, and promoting tissue repair. It’s commonly used for arthritis, wounds, post-surgical recovery, and muscle or joint injuries.

Veterinary Tui Na

Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, Tui Na is a specialized form of massage that combines acupressure and soft tissue manipulation to improve energy flow (Qi), enhance circulation, and reduce muscle tension. It helps stimulate the nervous system, release tight muscles, and improve joint mobility, making it beneficial for pain management and recovery from musculoskeletal conditions.

Veterinary Massage

Massage therapy improves blood flow, reduces muscle stiffness, and promotes relaxation. By increasing circulation, massage helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues while removing toxins and metabolic waste. It also stimulates the lymphatic system, reducing swelling and supporting immune function. Massage is beneficial for pets with arthritis, injuries, or post-surgical stiffness.

Veterinary Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves placing fine needles at specific points along the body’s meridians to stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissues. This activates the body’s natural pain relief mechanisms by triggering the release of endorphins and anti-inflammatory substances. It also improves blood circulation and nerve function, making it effective for chronic pain, arthritis, nerve disorders, and mobility issues.
